Technical Document Support Engineer

We are currently seeking an Engineer to join the support engineering team, where the successful candidate will develop their Technical Documentation skills and knowledge, whilst working on an exciting long-term project.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying source document from document management systems
  • Carrying out Impact Assessments against the engineering source data to create a Data Module Requirement Lists (DMRL)
  • Create Technical Description and Operating Information Data Modules (DM) in xml (mark-up language) to an ASD S1000D 4.1 specification
  • Authoring and managing DMs in the EAGLE Publishing System (EPS) Common Source Database (CSDB) using the EPS xml Editor software
  • Producing graphic mark-ups for the production of illustrations to support DMs
  • Quality checking DM outputs to ensure compliance with the project and industry specifications
  • Liaising with Senior and Principal Engineers to resolve technical/formatting issues

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent experience within relevant engineering discipline
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of handling documents and proficient in the discipline of configuration control
  • Knowledge and understanding of an IETP/IETM
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASD S1000D

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a technical documentation role
  • Previous experience within a support engineering discipline

PCB Process Engineer

We are looking to speak with Process and Senior Process Engineers for some exciting opportunities with our client, a leading global organisation within the Defence industry.

The role will work alongside Hardware Engineers and other Process Engineers to support the design, development, manufacture and rework of PCBA’s across multiple projects and all phases of the lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, ensuring new PCBA designs can be manufactured using the standard Production processes.
  • Approving technical data such as Drawings, BOMS, ODB++
  • Creating production / assembly programs and instructions
  • Training technicians in PCBA manufacturing processes
  • Generating metrics to highlight manufacturing process performance and ensuring performance is maintained or improved when necessary.
  • Liaise with Process Owners to identify future PCBA technology and support with business case justifications surrounding capital expenditure.

What background you’ll need:

  • Experience working within a PCBA manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SMT and PTH processes

What you’ll be doing:

· Ensuring that there is timely and consistent advice, support, coaching and governance of SHE standards and legislation to support all activities across the Site Redevelopment Programme

Calibration Team Leader

Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, the Calibration Team Leader will lead a team of Calibration Engineers and Technicians, being responsible for ensuring Calibration activities and maintenance of test equipment are completed to support the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensuring Calibration tasks on the teams portfolio are completed satisfactorily and are traceable to National Standards
  • Support the maintenance of test equipment, located on the shop floor
  • Manage the performance of the team using appropriate tools & techniques
  • Provide monthly reports and matrices on performance
  • Provide & authorise monthly estimates for areas of responsibility
  • Identifying and addressing the training and development requirements of the team
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Calibration team
  • Co-ordinate with external calibration suppliers the calibration of equipment
  • Interfacing with all other functions at all levels of the organisation

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experienced in a Calibration environment
  • Experience with UKAS 17025 or equivalent regulatory requirements
  • Operationally and strategically minded and ability to build and maintain excellent business relationships across all levels within the business

Welder- £33,380 day shift – £44,395 Back/Night/Weekend Shifts – located in Glasgow. Benefits include a competitive pension plan and an enhanced annual leave allowance.

Mon – Thurs

  • Day Shift: 07:00 – 16:30
  • Back Shift: 14:00 – 23:30

Fri – Sun

Overtime Rates:

  • Mon – Thurs: Time and a third
  • Friday: Time and a half for the first 4 hours, double time from then on

Essential Experience:
