Software Developer – Aerodynamics

Software Developer – Aerodynamics, £45,500, Warton, Hybrid.

Salary: £41,361 – £45,576

Knowledge and Experience:

Experience of software development, methods, practices and version control systems.
Experience of MATLAB/Simulink toolset.
Experience of working with teams co-ordinating and integrating requirements.
Knowledge of Linux systems and other software languages, Python, Java etc would be beneficial.
Degree level qualification in a STEM subject

What will you be doing?

Develop new Aerodynamics Engineering toolsets. Including the planning and reporting on progress of new toolset releases
Liaising and working with Aerodynamic Discipline Teams and Projects to collate and harmonise requirements and future developments to provide a common engineering toolset
Develop future initiatives to align with Digital Engineering framework and MBSE
Promote and support the toolsets with the Aerodynamic Engineering Community

As a Software Developer you will be working within the Operations Design Development Test & Evaluation Aerodynamics team, where the primary responsibility involves coordinating and advancing engineering toolsets and models specific to aerodynamics. The focus is on developing MATLAB/Simulink-based toolsets within established governance frameworks and best practices.

This role is not only about toolset development but also about contributing to the strategic advancement and innovation within the realm of aerodynamics engineering.

Toolset Development Engineer

Toolset Development Engineer, Prestwick, Hybrid.

Salary: £39,000 – £41,000

Your Capabilities:

Proficient in software development, including methods, practices, and version control systems.
Skilled in using the MATLAB/Simulink toolset for engineering applications.
Knowledgeable in Linux systems with additional experience in various software languages such as Python and Java.
Holds a degree in a STEM subject, providing a strong foundation in engineering principles.
Capable of coordinating and managing the development of new Aerodynamics Engineering toolsets.
Experienced in liaising with Aerodynamic Discipline Teams and Projects to collate and harmonise requirements, ensuring the delivery of a common engineering toolset.

Toolset Development Engineer

Toolset Development Engineer | £37,000 – £40,000 | Warton, Prestwick OR Brough | Aerospace | Hybrid.

What is required of you?

Experience in software development, including methods, best practices, and version control systems is required.

Electronics Engineer

Electronics Engineer, £55k, Portsmouth, Hybrid.

My client is part of a leading Aerospace & Defence group with this opportunity being based in Portsmouth. They are looking for an Electronics Engineer who will be responsible for the electronic aspects of torpedo design, repair, and maintenance. The role will provide you with the opportunity to join various complex development projects. You will see various stages of the lifecycle and contribute through these phases.

Knowledge & Experience:

Design and development of electronic assemblies, from specification through to release into service
Maintenance of existing designs and implementation of technology insertion programmes
Ability to support off site trials activities
Support the testing of high voltage alternators using bespoke test equipment
Translation of requirements into design detail
Component selection, schematic capture, and support to PCB layout
Specification of bespoke procured items
Interfacing with related disciplines including mechanical/thermal engineering, ILS, Safety, and Production
Able to follow the engineering lifecycle and undertake progress, peer and design reviews
Experience of generating component level designs for introduction into volume production using computer-aided engineering
Experience of analogue to digital and digital to analogue conversion
Integration, design proving and defect resolution

Product Safety Engineer

Product Safety Engineer – Upto £51K pa – Weymouth

My client, a global leading business, have a requirement for a Product Compliance Engineer to join their Safety & Environmental team. You will be working as part of an Integrated Development Team, specifically focusing on ensuring that Product Safety tasking and activities are completed across multiple systems in support of project milestones through all stages of Engineering Life Cycle Management. The successful candidate will support Hazard Identification and Analysis studies, whilst assisting in the creation/generating safety reports.

Knowledge & Experience:

Obtained or predicted 2:2 in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree. In the absence of a degree, then sufficient and relevant work experience will be considered and a desire to obtain a degree will also be considered
An understanding of ‘Safety and Systems Engineering’ and of the ‘Engineering Life Cycle Management’

Senior Flight Systems Engineer – Upto £52K pa – Bristol

My client, a global leading business, have a requirement for a Senior Flight Systems Engineer to join their highly skilled and professional engineering team. You will be overseeing the production of Flight Systems engineering data to meet project requirements in line with agreed standards and procedures, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence. You will also perform engineering tasks dependent on lifecycle phase which could include requirements development, system and equipment design and development, modelling and analysis, system integration, qualification and certification, and testing.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

Degree or equivalent experience or qualification in relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical / Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science)
Extensive experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Fluid Systems Engineering, preferably in an aerospace application or in a similar engineering or technology focussed industry
Ability to effectively research system design data and apply to complex problems
Model-based systems engineering principles, tools and techniques
Crew systems, thermal management / environmental control systems, electrical power generation and distribution, flying controls, propulsion integration, actuation systems including electrical, and systems health management
Vehicle control system design, and modelling and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems.

Desirable:

A background in developing products within the broader systems engineering lifecycle and exposure to multiple phases of the lifecycle
Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver on commitments
