Manufacturing Engineer – Initial 12 month contract

Salary: £49.35 DOE (Umbrella)

Location: Bristol

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be doing:

  • Ensure that manufacturing processes are capable of achieving and sustaining the design definition
  • Promote a culture of zero defects and ensure that digital systems are developed and deployed
  • Right First-Time manufacturing, guaranteeing product quality and conformity
  • Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.

Experience and skillset – Manufacturing Engineer

  • Professionally Qualified Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes (laser, grinding, milling and EDM)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven track record in technical problem-solving, along with a solid understanding of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing systems such as CAPP, MES, SAP
  • Knowledge of coating processes (plating, thermal spray and vapour deposition) is desirable

Salary: £50k – £55k plus OT

What you’ll be doing – Senior Quality Engineer

  • Working in conjunction with procurement, Quality and Programme teams to proactively identify and address supply chain quality issues
  • Drive continuous improvement activities
  • Continually reduce the number of defects during the manufacturing cycle
  • Supporting and executing risk-based annual audit plan, prepare, execute, measure and monitor
  • Improving supplier performance and Quality capability
  • Overseeing and approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Following up on any Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

Your skills and experiences – Senior Quality Engineer

  • Proven experience in quality management within a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with quality certification and regulatory standards, including EN 9100
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • Effective stakeholder management and collaboration, with the ability to challenge and drive an improvement-based culture

Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician – 12 month contract

Salary: £25.52 (inside)

Location: Derby

My client is a global defence and aerospace leader, and due to new business contacts they seek a Mainteance Technician to join their team on an initial 12 month contract.

As a Maintenance Technician you will be doing:

  • Perform a range of routine, reactive, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Installations, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on mechanically bias machines
  • Ability to perform alignment and geometry checks
  • Utilise hand tools and test equipment to deliver customer requirements.
  • Coordinate workload and mechanical activities with customers
  • Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment
  • Work to control standards and procedures

Experience and skillset – Maintenance Technician

  • MUST HAVE completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Good understanding of Maintenance operations and fault finding
  • Basic IT literacy and ability to work to engineering drawings.

As a Technical Publications Specialist / Engineer you will be doing:

  • Develop, maintain, and amend technical publications and methods documentation for engine assembly and disassembly.
  • Define and document processes for engine maintenance and overhaul activities.
  • Interpret and incorporate design changes into existing methods and publications.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and documentation protocols.
  • Manage and prioritize updates across a portfolio of ~250 publications
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams
  • Support knowledge transfer and mentoring within the team

Experience and skillset – Technical Publications Specialist / Engineer

  • Proven experience in technical publications or methods engineering within an aerospace or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of engine assembly/disassembly processes.

As a CNC Machinist you will be doing:

  • Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometres, plug gauges.
  • Working on various CNC machining platforms
  • Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.

Skillet and experience – CNC Machinist

  • MUST HAVE completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Siemens control system experience is preferred.
  • Experience in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling and turning.

Salary: £55p/h DOE

As an MRO Engineer you will be doing:

  • Respond to and manage non-conformance issues in engineering.
  • Process and review concessions, deviation permits, and technical vetting.
  • Support Design Authority Representative (DAR) approvals.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings and CAD documentation.
  • Define and amend methods of assembly/disassembly for engines.
  • Ensure engineering standards and methods are consistently applied.

Experience and skillset – MRO / Methods Engineer

  • Proven experience in non-conformance management within an engineering environment.
  • Strong drawing interpretation and CAD experience (e.g., NX or similar).
  • Familiarity with concessions, permits, and technical vetting processes.

What you’ll be doing – Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

  • Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control
  • Work closely with the Office of the Chief Engineer, to support assurance activities.
  • Delivery of the vehicle control system, reporting suitable progress through agile toolsets
  • Provide guidance and instruction on the engineering methods/process
  • Develop technical solutions, developing the team members and nurturing their development
  • Engage with legacy stakeholders in the development of a technical solution from a known baseline design

Your skills and experiences – Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer

  • Experience in developing a C&I design for a large scale C&I system ensuring it meets a wide range of requirements, such as functional & industrial standards, etc.
  • Experience with managing non-functional requirements (i.e. EMC, shock, etc.)
  • Experience of authoring and/or reviewing design documents, such as I/O schedules, functional design specification, functional chronicle, interface control document, etc.
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
  • A level of understanding of control system architecture and communication protocols (i.e. RS-485, PROFIBUS)
