Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Barrow – Hybrid (2/3 days onsite per fortnight)

Salary: Up to £60k DOE

The Mechanical Engineering team – Weapons Systems UK:

As part of the Weapon Systems UK Mechanical Engineering team, you will be involved in supporting technical changes to our existing product portfolio through analysis, concept design and tests and trials. This role also allows you to put forward your innovative ideas and solutions to the next generation of weapon platforms for the future battle space.

What you’ll be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer :

• Lead the development of solutions to technical issues
• Developing design solutions based on customer requirements, validating, and verifying through the design process
• Review and check design work and technical reports
• Carrying out technical analysis and investigations, and preparing reports
• Planning, delivering, and monitoring assigned projects or work packages

Your skills and experiences as a Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Design experience in a production and/or prototyping environment,
• finite element analysis (FEA) software to perform structural/stress analysis,
• Working knowledge of technical office processes, standards, and standard instructions
• Working experience using CAD software
