Probate Manager

Senior Probate Case Manager – £27k-£40k DOE, fully remote working but can offer office based if wanted. Location Leicester.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Review and approve estate accounts.
  • Draft, collate and summarise any supporting legal and financial documentation.
  • Conduct research where necessary on relevant laws, regulations and legal articles to ensure the accuracy of advice and the procedure.
  • Manage an independent case load.
  • To work collaboratively as part of a team assisting and mentorship of paralegals.
  • Corresponding with solicitors, courts, LR, OPG and other 3rd party companies as appropriate to each case.
  • Deal with routine and difficult enquiries effectively and efficiently and ensure that any client complaints are dealt with both professionally and promptly.

Skills Required:

  • Probate Fee Earner with at least 4 years PQE in probate and estate administration, should be confident in handling all aspects of associated transactions.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of running a probate caseload.
  • Utilise and maintain case management system.
  • Conveyancing experience, sales of properties, management of the client’s estate.
  • Confident drafting legal documents, statements and decision making.

The role
To deliver Astute Class Ship Control training while providing subject matter expertise to support course development, technical change, and marine training projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Training delivery: accountable to the Operations Manager: provide training to students with a wide range of experience, within the SCT discipline but also to provide assistance with generic training, for example Astute Class Familiarisation. All training is to be delivered to prescribed standards and within contractual requirements.
  • Training delivery: provide training to students with a wide range of experience, external to the ACTS contract. Training is to be delivered to prescribed standards, quality and cost.
  • Courseware maintenance: liaise with the Training Design (TD) team and provide SME support for the routine review and amendment of SCT courseware.
  • Change: provide SME support to the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact of change on existing courseware. Liaison with the TD team to implement required change.
  • Administration: to conduct all administration and reporting activities associated with the delivery of training to contractual requirement and as otherwise directed by the management team.
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times

Required experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of ship control systems operations
  • Experience managing submarine control rooms
  • Background in the Royal Navy submarine service
  • Previous training delivery experience (desirable)
  • Recent Astute-class submarine experience (desirable)
  • Warrant Officer or Senior Rating within the Royal Navy

Weapons Instructor

The role
deliver classroom and simulator-based training, primarily focused on Astute Class submarines. The role will be to help ensure our armed forces are fully prepared to operate and maintain weapon handling systems safely and effectively across submarine platforms.

  • Training delivery, accountable to the Operations Manager: provide training to students with a wide range of experience, predominantly within the Weapons Electrical (WE) Weapons Handling discipline but also to provide assistance with generic training for example Astute Class Familiarisation, Submarine Qualification Training (SMQ).   • Training delivery: provide training to students with a wide range of experience, external to the ACTS contract Training is to be delivered to prescribed standards, quality and cost
  • Courseware maintenance: liaise with the Training Design (TD) team and provide SME support for the routine review and amendment of WE Weapons Handling courseware
  • Change; provide SME support to the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact of change on existing WE courseware. Liaison with the TD team to implement required change to WE courseware
  • Administration: to conduct all administration and reporting activities associated with the delivery of training to contractual requirement and also as otherwise directed by the Management team
  • Business Development: to provide SME advice in support of the Marine Training Directorate. Delivering to cost, schedule and quality for each bid/job allocated

Required experience:

  • Sound knowledge of submarine Tactical Weapons Engineering systems
  • Experience in Weapons Handling operations
  • Qualified Weapons System Board – Competent User Level 3 (CU3) certification

Join one of the UK’s most prestigious engineering projects at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. We’re looking for Level 2/3 engineers in Electrical or Mechanical to support major onboard ships with upkeeping duties and help keep them operational during deep maintenance periods.

This 6-month contract offers up to £21.57 p/hr, with a 35-hour workweek (Mon-Fri, early finish Fridays). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting to maintain electrical and mechanical systems onboard vessels in deep maintenance periods and contributing to the regeneration of systems and equipment to full operational condition ready for tests and trials by:

  • Conducting maintenance of dedicated mechanical and electrical systems
  • Reporting on system equipment and condition to ensure stakeholder awareness for future operation
  • Rectifying defect of equipment

If you’re time-served, hold a relevant Level 2/3 qualification, and have experience in marine or heavy engineering environments, we want to hear from you. Prior experience with ships, submarines, or commercial vessels is highly desirable but not essential.
